Each different mechanic offers something towards your experience and whilst it may be a little too difficult at times I was easily able to look past this because it also felt fair at the same time, which is very rare in games of this ilk. The gameplay is absolutely perfect in my opinion and that’s mainly down to how the mechanics perform throughout your time with the game. Darkest Dungeon is a game that takes this rewarding method and places it throughout the very addictive experience it creates. Rewarding RPG’s are game’s that make you want to sink huge amounts of hours into them because in the end it’s worth your time and effort. I've reached the end of the campaign and enjoyed doing it and plan to come back to the game after more is added. The run by run variety definitely starts to slow down, upgrading after a run gets somewhat dull after the hero and movement/map upgrades, and the runs do start to feel like they just take.too long. I do find myself wishing there was a bit.more to the rougelite aspects of the game though. The overall progression is much better in DD1 (town), but it is faster to progress in DD2 Each individual hero has a good number of skills and options to choose from in DD2, but there are noticeably less heroes to pick from than DD1
